Panorama

exhibition
A product design exhibition

Rather than seeking to define what Luxembourg design should be, the Panorama exhibition chose instead to observe it in motion — a true Momentaufnahme, a snapshot capturing a discipline in the midst of transformation. By presenting 21 creations by designers from Luxembourg or currently working there, the exhibition revealed a landscape of remarkable diversity, ranging from everyday objects to rare, one-of-a-kind pieces.

Each creation testified to a distinct way of engaging with materials, forms and ideas: some rooted in craftsmanship and tradition, others embracing experimentation, innovation or cross-disciplinary approaches. This coexistence of practices, intentions and methods offered visitors an expanded reading of contemporary design in Luxembourg, one that goes beyond stylistic categories or formal definitions.

Taken together, the works formed a rich and multi-layered panorama that shed light on the increasingly important role design is assuming within Luxembourg’s cultural, creative and economic ecosystems. Far from proposing a fixed canon, the exhibition highlighted design as a practice in perpetual evolution — diverse in its expressions, exploratory in its ambitions and open to new dialogues.

By foregrounding individual voices within a shared cultural environment, Panorama illustrated how design in Luxembourg is shaped not only by objects, but also by processes, perspectives and the people who bring them to life. It is this dynamic, living quality that the exhibition sought to reveal.
